Welcome to my new site. What do you think? Nifty, non?
It's been a hell of a renovation. But it's been what I've been trying to do ever since I first hand-coded an entry. I knew I wanted a site that managed all the stuff I had to say, kept it in order and grouped it meaningfully. Six years ago I needed a content management system, I just didn't know it. I struggled along by hand for a while, went to Xanga for a couple of years and then finally got back to this site with Blogger. But this… this is what I really wanted to be able to do.
Don't mind the holes around the place. They're being filled in as we speak. I wanted to be able to bring all the stuff I'd written into one place. It's taking a while. I've been participating actively in a variety of online communities for six years. That's a lot of writing.
Click around the place. It's all a bit new, so some of the links might not quite be dry yet. If you find a sticky link, drop me an email (up in the top right) so I can fix it.
Have a look at some of these entries. See the delicate inlay work? Done by hand, that is, quality work. Had to be, Movable Type doesn't import entries from Xanga, nor does it import comments from either ReBlogger or Xanga. Every single one of those suckers was done by hand. Good thing I love you guys.
There are some real antiques around the place. I don't have exact dates for when I first started hand-coding diary entries online, so I've used the date the material first appeared online as a basis. Some of this material is positively venerable (and some of the jokes even older.)
If you got booted here by my redirect page, please forgive the sudden change and don't forget to update your bookmarks on your way out.
I expect there will be some tweaking still to do, so keep your hard hats on for a couple more weeks.
Now I think I'll go curl up in a corner with a nice cup of tea and admire my handiwork.
Lovely! Simple mahvelous, dahling!
Ohhhhh it looks flash.... I like it, I like it alot...
but why oh why must you stop reminding us you've posted at xanga, I'm a forgetful type and only remember to check when you nudge me... man!
WOW! Tree it looks great over here!
And I am just in love with your heading font!!
Very snazzlicious, in a swirly kinda way. Congrats on mastering the MT monster!
It's looks great. I love this font, is it Freebooter? I use that one a lot.
Nice job! :)
It looks great!!! Congratulations!
(I wish I had the patience & technical know-how to do a self-hosted MT blog)
"It's Pink...for girls!!!" squeals Charlotte.
(I'm loving that font...you know me and swirly fonts....)
Three days, and I'm still linking to the old blog just so I can see the "The Lady is Changing" picture!
(Pssst! When you click on a commenter's link their page opens in this fixed-size window. But you probably already knew that....)
I love your new site. I moved most of my things over to livejournal from Xanga. I love reading about what is going on with you. BTW, I loved the piccies of you and Ghost. :)
*hugs* :)
Wowwwwwww.
Utterly fantabulous makeover you've given the place. I want one of my own now. :-)
You could always set up an RSS feed for that miserable bunch of us who are addicted to the Xanga subscriber logs. ;-)
Delicious!
Looks wonderful babbeeee. Whew missed you! Got you bookmarked now! :)
Way nifty!
Looks faaaaaabulous on a 17" PowerBook screen... Hehehehehehe.
:)
Due to the amount of comment spam I'm receiving on old entires, comments are now closed for this entry. Please feel free to add a comment on a more recent post or drop me an email!
Looks lovely, at the moment there's a strange red squiggle in a line with the top of your latest entry that sits over the lady on the left...
