Like sand in Egypt...

Oh the irony.

Here I am, in London, and do you think I can find a single packet of Twinings Earl Grey teabags anywhere?

I can find loose-leaf (not useful for a girl travelling without a strainer), decaffinated or the feminine Lady Grey version, but not plain, Earl Grey teabags.

In London.

England.

For crying out loud.

Sigh.

But otherwise, London is proving to be a wonderful, wonderful place. Everywhere I turn, there is something beautiful or intriguing or astonishing for me to look at. Every place I travel to has echoes of something I've read or seen on TV or watched in the movies or heard in a song. After having read Neverwhere, I get thrills travelling the tube and hearing the stern voice warn me, "Mind the gap."

Yes, there has been work and a lot of it and a lot of political nastiness to deal with. That part sucks and is exhausting me. But London sustains and revives me and makes me remember the joy of being wide-eyed and experiencing the world for the first time,

I will be back.

What a grand adventure! To think that some people probably look on all those amazing places and things as a dull backdrop boggles the mind. I'd love to go there some day, Tree. Unfortunately I seem to be permanently stuck here!

Finally got version 1.5 completed of my portfolio, BTW, Tree. None of the really cool paintings that I've been doing recently, but I got the new Flash movie tacked on, along with about 400+ images. You can check it out once you get back home. Maybe I'll have my paintings up by then. Cheers!

*heeeeehehehe!*

Sorry. I just think that's *hysterical*! Poor LMT! Doomed to travel without her cuppa.

Not, mind you, that I would think it One Bit Funny if I couldn't have a decent coffee in the morning. Which, come to think of it, I did quite a bit of in the UK.

I think I wanna see London with you--it sounds a lot more fun that the London we saw.

*HUGS!!!*

I MIIIIIISSSSED you here!

We're all totally green with envy!

"Meet me at Trafalgar Square at noon tomorrow!"

I'd love to actually be able to say that, and buy up all the places on the monopoly board - 400 smackers for a hotel on Mayfair doesn't sound like a bad deal!

Having lived in London for a short time, I'm in complete sympathy with you regarding tea. I couldn't find English Breakfast (Twinings) for a time.

I love your site and will be back for more.
