NaNoWriMo 2002

In 2002 I was foolishly convinced to have a go at NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). The result was not good, but not complete pants either. Read at your own risk.

Fifty thousand words in thirty days. That's the challenge I accepted when my friends Chiliflower and Strawberry Fields sent me a link to the National Novel Writing Month page.

Hell, that's only 1667 words a day (or so). That's do-able. As long as you don't have a life of any description and are not the crowned queen of procrastination.

But you can see how this story ends.

If you are feeling extraordinarily brave, here it is to read. But you must read the following disclaimer:

I, the reader, hearby acknowledge that this work was written under extreme duress and has undergone no form of editing whatsoever. I understand that some passages were written in sheer desperation to get the author's word count up and would be hacked out by any decent editor. Some parts of this work were even written without the benefit of Earl Grey tea and/or chocolate. in acknowledging these conditions, I undertake to structure any feedback I have on this work accordingly.

I agree
