:: Week 45 - A Christmas Miracle ::

Behold, a great Christmas miracle has occurred (and it had nothing to do with virgin births or oil lasting for eight days).

And lo, did Tree go to her Weight Watchers meeting to stand on the scales and be judged. The gods of weight loss looked down upon her humble and overstuffed head and rendered their judgement.

She looked upon their judgement and saw it was good.

Be buggered if I know how I managed this because I got on my scales this morning and they told me that I'd put on a kilo (which is what they had told me earlier in the week too--bad Tree, wicked Tree, no biscuit). But when I got on the scales at the meeting today, I had LOST!

Only .1kg (.2lb), but still a completely unexpected loss. Stranger things do happen, indeed!

74.1kg (163.3lb) is a nice place to be just before the onslaught of Christmas. I have some room to move if I do put on weight over Christmas, and if I don't then I'll be starting the new year with less than 10kg to go to goal.

A very nice place indeed.

I can do this. I'm feeling good about this. 2005 is going to be my year, the year I reach goal.

I'm having a bit of a dilemma about one of my goal rewards, though. I promised myself lingerie when I reached goal and the moment I saw it, I promised myself this (click on the second and third images on the left).

Problem is, they've just been released in Australia. I'm worried that there won't be anything left when I finally hit goal (hopefully in April). Do I buy some of it now and hope that I shrink into it or do I wait and hope they have some left when I get there? Help! What should I do?

Wow. I wish I could eat like you did last week and still have a loss. The Weightloss Goddess is smiling upon you :)

Me? I would buy the lingerie now and fit into it later. I have a bag full of 'too small' things (including lingerie) under the bed and it's fun to try things on as I shrink, and see them fitting better and better.

So go for it and buy it now - that's if you know what size you want to 'stop' at, of course!

A loss! The week before Christmas!! Truly thou art gifted and blessed by the scale gods, O Tree!
What about lay-bying the gorgeous undies and paying off a bit every time you lose? Then you're being disciplined and waiting until you've 'earned it', AND you get what you want. OR you could buy them for yourself right now as a present to celebrate 2004, and have something else for a goal reward. Hmmm...

I wouldn't buy it. What if something so much nicer is out when you reach goal, and you like the new stuff SO much better than this! It won't feel like as much of a reward.

Somehow I just lost my comment...so here I go again.
Basically I have been thinking about this for the last 24 hours..yes I am a loser! My initial reaction was NO, don't buy it, but I wasn't too sure why...then I thought, hmm, maybe it's good incentive....but I have finally decided that it's a bad idea to get it. What happens if you reach your goal and you are smaller than what you bought? Although, it would be great, you've wasted the money....It's also a reward for reaching a goal, and part of that reward is the excitement in shopping and trying on, buying it now is cheating yourself of that. If you really want this specific set, get it now as a celebration of how far you have come and how great you feel about your new body, but not as a reward for a goal you haven't yet reached.
And it would be a great Christmas present from Ghost!!!

Hey me again - I saw that lingerie in Myer last night. *wolf whistle* it's gorgeous! I bet you're going for the black/red combo yeah? It's very luscious.

I don't know how much of the set you want, but maybe you could compromise and just get a bra for now? At least with a bra if you get one that fits now on the outermost hooks, you know that you've got an inch or so to move to the innermost hooks, as you shrink.

I have to go against the flow and say leave it up to fate! It's a reward for reaching a goal you haven't reached yet, right? So be a tough bitch and give yourself extra motivation to get there faster!

If they run out by then (which I don't think is all that likely...), it means there's something even nicer out there for you!

Gorgeous undies. And more importantly: gorgeous you for keeping up the losses!

I wouldn't buy the lingerie now, though, because I wouldn't know exactly what size I'm going to be. But that's just me, and I'm a procrastinator by nature, so don't pay too much attention to what I'm saying.
